8th Pay Commission Hike: What Could Be New Salaries Of Central Govt Employees?
8th Pay Commission Hike For Govt Employees: The Union Cabinet has approved the 8th Pay Commission, which will propose salary and pension revisions for central government employees. It is expected to be implemented next year. Currently, salaries follow the 7th Pay Commission's recommendations, which have been in effect since 2016. The upcoming salary revisions will be based on the 'fitment factor,' a multiplier applied to the basic pay. Reports suggest that the 8th Pay Commission may introduce a fitment factor of 2.86.

7th Pay Commission: How the govt employees salary will change from July 1
The government has already announced that these benefits will be given to the employees from July 1, 2021. According to the 7th pay commission rules, the employees’ basic salary will be multiplied by the fitment factor which is 2.57 and that will increase the monthly CTC of government employees except for allowance. The Travel Allowance (TA) will further increase after the DA with the pending arrears that will be added to the salary.

The central government on Thursday (March 19, 2020) altered the working hours of its employees and directed them to work in three shifts as part of measures to combat the spread of coronavirus.
